So sorry!

I am so sorry that I haven't been writing. I don't really know if there is anyone really reading this, but still, it was a goal I made and I want to follow through. I do however have to admit that writing every day is too much. I am going to school full time (online) and taking care of my house and two little boys while my husband is away (he'll be home in 6 days!!!... but then he'll leave in 4 weeks, and be gone for another 16 weeks ). So anyway, now onto my diet. I honestly do not know what clicked, but I have been sticking to my diet with NO real problem. This is amazing to me, because usually when I decide to eat healthy, I want to eat bad even MORE! So I will go through a typical day for me to explain what I am doing. Mon-Fri, we all wake up at about 6:30am I make breakfast for the boys, get myself and Blake ready for the gym, and tell Dallas 10 times to turn off the TV and get dressed. At 8:00 I walk Dallas to school ...well I watch him walk to school (right across the street). Once I get inside I sit down and write out what I plan to eat for breakfast, and fill up my gallon water jug (I drink half of it every day). 9:00 I am at the gym,  Monday:Spin, Tuesday:Weights and stair climber, Wednesday:Body Attack (my FAV class EVER!!) Thursday: weights and stair climber, Friday: Body Attack. I am usually at the gym for an hour. Once Blake and I get home he lays down for a nap and I eat breakfast my favorite breakfast is a mini whole wheat bagel, with a morning star veggie sausage and 1 tbs strawberry jam. Then I clean and do school work until Blake wakes up. Once Blake is awake he and eat lunch I with either have 1/2 a chicken breast (I cook them at the beginning of the week) with veggies or tuna and an apple. Then we play outside and clean until 3:00 when we pick up Dallas. Then we all play outside until 4-4:30. Once we get home it's home work time then dinner between 5-6. We usually have chicken or lean turkey breast/ ground beef, and veggies. After dinner it's bath time and Blake is in bed at 7, and Dallas is in bed at 8. The last thing I eat is 1/4 cup of Planters nuts the omega-3 mix... it is SOO good it has walnuts, chocolate covered soy beans, and dried cranberries. 1/4 cup is just enough to satisfy me. After that it's homework for me and cleaning. I of course do have some snacks during the day but I make sure that they are healthy snacks, some days all I want is my Planters nuts, and on others an apple. So I have mad 8:00 my cut off. So here at the things that I am doing different from the past. 1. I am eating a later breakfast 2. I am eating 3 meals day that satisfy me, in the past I tried eating 6 small meals a day. 3. I am allowing myself 1200-1500 calories a day and I do not add up calories until right before I go to bed, before I was very strict about the 1200 calories and I would add everything up during the day, I would be so proud when I was WAY under some night after dinner I would have only had 800-900 calories, but then I would blow it. OK, so this was long!!! And I'm sorry, if you have any other questions about what I'm doing just ask! OH, and I weighed myself, I'm at 128, when my husband left I weighed 138, when I started my blog I weighed 135.

Feeling good!

Well, I missed writing over the weekend... which will probably be the case most weekends. I was extremely sick this weekend, so sticking to my calories wasn't hard, nothing taste good. Even though I was sick, I still had to keep the kids busy, Dallas had a soccer game Saturday, and after that we went to the mall. We went to Barnes and Noble, and I went to the health section, it was a tad bit overwhelming seeing ALL of the diet books, I started flipping throw some of them, and finally decided that there's nothing new about losing weight. You just have to eat healthy and stay active, everyone has a method of eating healthy that works for them. Today I found it hard to even meet my 1200 calories, I have been eating veggies at every meal, and that REALLY seems to fill me up. My favorite are the frozen microwave veggies, I just have to be careful to look at the sodium, all the veggies I bought are fresh frozen so there was no sodium, but they are with veggies that have sauces or spices on them, so I just check the back before I put it in my cart. I have been successful at drinking 1/2 gal. of water everyday. I have not weighed myself because it's that time of the month, and I know that the number on the scale is going to be higher, so I'll wait until next week.

Energized!

Well, it's late, so I'm not going to write much. Today started out OK, I had my eggs and half bagel, and my new fav snack is 1/2 of a Fuji apple with 2 tablespoons of almond butter. I went over on my calories today, but I wasn't too bad I was shooting for 1500 and I went to 1600. I am becoming much more aware of what I put in my mouth, and how much mindless snacking I did before. A perfect example of this, is when I went to the Dr. today (I'm fine, it was just my yearly check up, blah!), anyway, I packed Blake some cheeseitz and I kept on want to grab a few and eat them, even though I wasn't hungry. I worked out on the elliptical for 45 min, and drank a 1/2 gallon of water, and feel my energy coming back, I got a lot done today!! Including putting together a patio set that I bought... have I said how much I miss my husband!! I started putting it together at 7, and didn't get done until 10:45! But at least it was put together right!!

It Was A Good Day

Rather than boring you with all the food choices I made today, I will tell you what I began and ended with. Today started out with 2 eggs and a mini whole wheat bagel, and ended with a burger topped with caramelized onions. Total calorie count for the day is 1218. It wasn't so bad, at about 3pm I was hungry, but put it off until 5:30 because I knew I was going to eat a burger. Though, I made my burgers with extra lean ground beef, it's amazing how the calories add up, after ketchup, reduced fat cheese, and onions, I figured my burger added up to about 400 calories. I was satisfied after eating it but I could have definitely gone for another. When dieting in the past I always went for the frozen "lean" dinners, but I have decided to stay away from those, I am trying to eat more whole foods and less sodium, and after today I think that strategy will prove to be a success, though I did get pretty hungry around 3pm, I stuck it out and now at 8:30pm I am still not hungry after my dinner. In the past I ALWAYS felt hungry! I went shopping tonight and bought some Almond Butter, I took a very small taste, and it was REALLY good, I plan using it tomorrow.  Oh, and one last thing,  I have decided to alternate my calorie count every day ranging from 1200-1500 in calories to keep my body guessing. Have a good night!

A New Day A New Diet

Hi, everyone. Bare with me while starting this blog. I have decided to start this process for a few reasons. First, is obviously dieting, I feel like my whole life I have been on a diet, failing at one just to start another, and yet fail again. It is a very frustrating cycle to be on. My husband left for business April 15 and will not be returning until May 15. At the start of his trip I decided that this time was going to be different, I had 8 weeks to lose 15-20 pounds, which is very doable. However, this time wasn't any different, I have managed to lose just 3 pounds, and only have 3 weeks until he returns. I have been working out for an hour +, 5 days a week doing cardio and weights. My goal for this blog is the have some sort of accountability, and a place to put my thoughts. I just want healthy stable weightloss. I also would appreciate any tips that anyone has to share, and would also like to provide encourage to others that struggle with this issue as well. Finally I would like to improve my writting skills, and would love feedback on what I can do to improve.
So to get started, my weight is 135 and I am 5'3 my goal weight is 115-120. I am starting my diet tomorrow, I will be purchasing a food scale and following a low calorie diet eating fruits vegies and lean protiens. I will blog every night, and give updates on weight every Monday.
